As a Senior Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse (PICU), you will:
- Take charge of the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate holistic care plans for children.
- Mentor and act as a role model for junior and student nurses.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Foster strong relationships with children and their families.
- Ensure excellent clinical governance and participate in audits.
- Supervise and assess students, and lead shifts as needed.
As a Senior Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse(PICU), you will receive:
- Annual salary of up to £55,000 an additional £3,000 per annum for PICU qualifications.

- Post Graduate experience in a PICU setting.
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues.
- Teaching and mentoring experience (desirable).
- Completion of a PICU Course equivalent to 60 credits.
- Excellent clinical governance and audit experience.
- Experience in supervising, assessing students, and shift leading (desirable).
