Job Requirements / Description

About the role:
The Strategic Data Officer for Social Care will support Social Care Services with the management and use of data and systems, including reporting and analysis. The role involves coordinating and reporting on statutory and local performance information, working with stakeholders, and ensuring that accurate information is available in the right format at the right time. The officer will lead the design, production, and implementation of automated reporting and performance management, and work
closely with key stakeholders across social care to support service transformation.
About you:
We're looking for someone with a passion for data and a curiosity to explore how it can drive better outcomes in Social Care and the people of Powys. You should be both creative and analytical, eager to find new ways to visualise and interpret data to support evidence-based decision-making. While technical skills in tools like Microsoft Power BI are important, we're equally interested in someone who brings a positive attitude, is adaptable, and is enthusiastic about learning and growing in the role. Strong
collaboration skills are essential, as you'll be working closely with Children's Services and Adults Services, and other key stakeholders to ensure that data is used effectively to support their needs and drive meaningful change.
What you will do:
You will be responsible for developing and implementing a consistent performance management reporting approach, developing and automating reports, and supporting the delivery of Social Services Transformation. Your work will involve liaising with
stakeholders to define data requirements, ensuring timely and accurate data reporting, and participation in national forums. Additionally, you will play a key role in promoting a data-driven culture, supporting system configurations, and leading the development of self-serve reports to enhance service efficiency, whilst acting as a critical friend to provide constructive challenge in relation to data management and reporting.
