The delivery of high quality, effective, safe and compassionate health care to the patients of the Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective for the organisation.The post holder will assist the trained nurses with repositioning patients, washing, ordering meals as well as maintaining stock within the individual bed spaces and the department. The post holder will also be required to provide comfort and support to patients and families whilst maintaining respect, privacy and dignity and confidentiality. They will ensure that a welcoming and professional greeting is provided to patients and visitors, and to ensure that the Nursing and Medical staff are well supported in their own roles.Critical care health care assistances will assist in the smooth running of discharging patients and prepare bed spaces ready for the next critical care admission. This entails maintaining infection control standards in line with Trust policy. The role also entails decontaminating, preparing and setting up vital equipment ready for use. Please read the job description carefully as this role is very different from a ward based HCA.You will be required to work cross site and help out on the wards.Main duties of the jobThe critical care health care assistant role differs from the ward health care assistant as per detailed job description. Therefore the apprenticeship training is not included but can be discussed later on in your health care career if this is something you are interested in. To support the qualified practitioners in the delivery of a seven-day, twenty-four-hour service, this includes:Prioritises own workload, regularly reporting back to line manager.To ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, compassion, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.Answer the telephone in a professional and welcoming manner, responding to queries where possible and escalating appropriated enquiries to the nursing or medical team.Maintain confidentiality of patient information.Making necessary arrangements and/or follow up for general ward maintenance and the repairing of equipment.Working for our organisationOur vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
