Senior Healthcare Assistant

Be the difference in your patients' lives!The role of the Senior Health Care Assistant (SHCA) is to assist the nursing staff to implement the care plans of patients at York, and to undertake additional tasks or roles requested by the Clinical Manager, Senior Staff Nurses or Nurses. Senior HCAs will take part in ensuring the smooth running of the shift, supervising more junior colleagues, and ensuring that all allocated tasks are performed. The nursing staff will decide the detailed care plans in conjunction with best practice (e.g. NICE guidelines), and senior HCAs will ensure that implementation of daily activities support the care plans.What we need from you?The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, with an NVQ level 2 in healthcare or equivalent length of experience and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills. You will have experience of working within a Healthcare setting, and have previous experience in a Senior HCA position or overseeing a small team.
