As an Extra Care service, the individuals we support here are 55+and live in their own self-contained flat.As a Care Worker you will take a person-centred approach with our valued residents to ensure they are living their life to the fullest. You will support with day-to-day independence, enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities as well as providing emotional support and personal care.The team understand that everyone is unique. Tailored care is designed to meet the individual needs and wishes of each resident at the home. Staff are highly trained and understand the importance of enabling people to keep control of their lives.Also, as a Pobl Difference Maker you really are part of something special where you and your opinions matter. We have a culture built on our values to be Positive, Considerate and Connected.You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:Medication administrationCooking skills and other household skillsAccessing the community and supporting to local groupsSupporting with individuals' hobbies and activitiesBeing a team player and having good communication skillsCompleting relevant paperwork to a high standardSupporting individuals to budget financesProviding companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeingHaving fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence.Taking the people we support out and about therefore a full driving licence is preferableEncouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative dutiesBeing able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working.Supporting Individuals with their individual needsWhat skills and experience do you need? A background of working with older people with dementia is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.
