Healthcare Solicitor, Belfast An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the leading Healthcare teams in Northern Ireland. This major player is looking to recruit a solicitor to join the team in Belfast.The team is top ranked for healthcare in the region, with an enviable client base. The team really invests in its people, it aims to recruit for the long term, supporting its lawyers to develop their skills and work towards their chosen areas of expertise. Relationships with major clients are incubated from an early stage and junior lawyers are also encouraged to develop their own networks.You will work with the wider team to: Defend medical practitioners before regulatory bodies such as the General Dental / Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council, Northern Ireland Social Care Council, and the Irish Medical Council.Defend claims against medical professionals, often relating to high value claims for severe injuries.Defend Dentists in relation to claims against them.Act on behalf of Clinicians at Inquests.Act for Clients in healthcare related Public Inquiries.Act for clinicians in respect of internal hospital investigations. Demands are high, but at the same time there is genuine flexibility and agile working is the norm.They are busy and are now looking to take on a junior solicitor, ideally 1-4PQE with solid academics and the drive to move their career forward in an intellectually challenging but rewarding working environment.Prior defendant healthcare experience is desirable, however, the team are also open to hearing from candidates looking to re-train in the area and will provide the relevant support and guidance necessary for the right candidate to succeed in the role.
