Job summaryA position has become available in our pregnancy counselling service. This is a part time role of 24 hours per week over three days. We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate and motivated person, who is able work well within a small team and support patients through an emotional time Main duties of the job- To assist in the smooth running of The Pregnancy Counselling Service. - To actively work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality of nursing/clinical care to patients. - To maintain the dignity and confidentiality of all service users. - To operate as 'first point' of contact for patients. Triaging to the correct team member (doctor, nurse, emotional support or administrator). - Decision making and performing correct clinical tests independently (urine tests, blood tests, baseline observations, chlamydia testing). To ensure that privacy and dignity is respected at all times. To have a good understanding of the complex needs of this group of patients. To assist the team in always providing an excellent service by ensuring a good knowledge of the patient and service requirements. Chaperoning patients undergoing sensitive procedures within a clinical setting.
