Senior Solicitor - Adult Social Care


Essex, Full-time, Hybrid, £55,000

The Role

  • As Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer, you are responsible for the delivery of advice for clients on social care matters on behalf of the Council
  • Provide detailed, accurate advice on the Council’s responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Mental Health Act 1983
  • Submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, eg COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, deprivations of liberty, s21a challenges, judicial review, inherent jurisdiction
  • Provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas including, ordinary residence, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, 16–17-year-old Deprivation of liberty cases


What You’ll Bring

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx
  • Significant experience in providing legal advice on Adult Social Care
  • Be motivated to protect and defend vulnerable members of the community and make a difference
  • Experience in a Local Authority setting is desirable but not essential
