Interim Lawyer - Child Care

We are currently working in partnership with a local authority, who are looking for a newly qualified Solicitor to join the team on a permanent basis. This will be a full-time position based predominantly from home, with 1 day per week in the office in Oxford, and a salary of £41,496 to £44,539 per annum. The ideal candidate will have recently qualified as a Solicitor, and have some experience working within Childcare teams. Delivering high quality legal advice and services to Directorates and Corporate Services Drafting documents and legal agreements, to ensure that policy is formulated, and operational decisions are taken on a sound legal basis Carrying a caseload of legal work, largely unsupervised, within the Childcare, and holding responsibility for completing all aspects of the task in accordance with good legal practice and client service specification Undertaking legal research and preparing appropriate advice on the results of such research, including advising the council on risk and mitigations Qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive Experience within local government is desirable Experience within Childcare & Family Law is essential Up to 32 days annual leave (+ bank holidays) Excellent pension scheme, with employer contributions of up to 20% of salary Family friendly schemes, including generous maternity, paternity and support for carers and a tax-saving childcare voucher scheme Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
