More information is available on our Career site at www.fife.gov.uk/jobs/supportingstatementJob DetailsAs Care Assistants within the Complex Care service, you will be asked to work as part of a team to empower the people we provide support to who have severe autism and learning disabilities to take control of their own lives and to actively seek out opportunities to achieve their full potential as individuals within society. You will promote social inclusion and offer opportunities for our service users to access a range of community settings. Support service users by encouraging their living skills in their own home in a person-centred way that promotes the principles of social inclusion. You will be assisting with everyday life skills, personal care, housework, shopping, cooking, attending appointments, administering medication, keep records and record information in service users support plans. You will also work as part of a team supporting people to manage their anxieties and distress and to keep them safe.Supporting to maintain regular contact with family & friends, social events/activities, colleges, work opportunities, and holidays. Our service users are active so expect to be out undertaking a range of activities including walking and swimming. In addition when our service users become distressed we may need to hold them safely so you need to be able to undertake CALM physical intervention training Please apply Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. Must have or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF6 SVQ2 or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration.
