Head of Healthcare - HMP

Our client is looking for a highly motivated, innovate and enthusiastic clinician to lead the healthcare team as the Head of Healthcare for a prison based in teh Greater Manchester are for a period of up to 4 months, possibility could be longer.

This is done through safe, optimal and integrated health and wellbeing services that deliver best outcomes for the individual, their families, and communities.

The Head of Healthcare would be expected to:

• Be directly accountable for the provision of high-quality evidence-based practice clinical and operational healthcare.
• Be a strong people manager, lead by example and support and lead the team to delivery high quality services to patients.
• Be accountable for the delivery of the contract and monitor performance and delivery against KPIs.
• Work in partnership with all key stakeholders, Directors, Deputy Directors, and other Heads of Healthcare.
• Delivery services safely and within budget.
• Engage and work collaboratively with patients to improve their experience and deliver high quality care.

Essential Criteria:

• Registered healthcare professional with current appropriate registration, eg Nurse with NMC membership
• Previous experience working in a prison invironment and current vetting
• Experience at Senior Level in a management operational role within a healthcare environment, working in a complex environment with multi health professions.
• Knowledge of the effective application of the Health & Social Care Act 2014 and relevant legislation.
• Knowledge and understand in relation to the government’s offender health agenda.
• Understanding and application of confidentiality
• Excellent leadership skills
• Experience of leading teams in complex environments.
• Experience of effectively managing a service working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.
