The applicant will provide specialist respiratory input for acute respiratory admissions to ensure the highest quality care and optimum effectiveness. The applicant will also provide care to general medical patients and participate in the general medical on call. They will support the development of sub-specialist services according to their expertise. You will be part of the General Medical Team of consultants and be expected to participate in the medical on call rota. The present chest physicians are enthusiastic and determined to build an excellent department. *Your key responsibilities will be to:* * To provide specialist respiratory advice to acutely unwell respiratory patients * To facilitate early discharge or prevent admission of respiratory patients where appropriate * To ensure respiratory patients benefit from specialist input when managed on an outlying ward. * Daily ward rounds * Participation in the General Internal Medicine responsibilities of the Respiratory Team including the general medical on call * Support of the unit’s goal of delivering highly effective care approaches * Teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students and junior staff * Participate in both department and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit. * Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in CME throughout. * Support development and delivery of sub-specialist respiratory services *Details about the role:* * *Speciality*: Respiratory * *Location*: Worcestershire * *Shift patterns*: 8:30-17:00 Mon-Fri on-going (part-time hours also available) * *Hours per week*: 20-50 hours available * *Start date*: ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts * *Rate of pay per hour*: £105-£125 depending on experience *Doctors Direct recruit to the highest of NHS standards and all candidates applying for this role must have the following:* * Valid GMC * Right to work in the UK * Clinical attachment complete * Minimum of 3 months paid experience in the NHS/UK *About the Trust* Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust provides hospital-based services from three main sites, the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester.
