Job summaryNavenby Ward are looking for Health Care Support WorkersWe are looking for a highly motivated individuals who want to work in a busy and demanding environment. they must have excellent communication skills and enjoy being part of a teamA positive patient centred experience is the motivation to our care delivery.Excellent communication skills are a must. Main duties of the jobThe successful candidates will work within an established team carrying out essential patient care under the direction and supervision of a qualified nurse.Previous experience of working in a health/care setting is desirable but not essential as training will be given.Assisting with all aspects of patient care.Working alongside the nurses on the ward to deliver excellent positive experience.Working as an effective and responsible member of the team acting consistently with legislation, policies, procedures and other quality approaches adhering to ULHT values and standards.Please see the attached JD and Person Specification for the full details for this post. Your NHS needs you!Person Specification Qualifications Essential English & Maths qualification at Grades A* - E or Functional Silss Level 1 Desirable Literacy and numeracy qualification equivalent to Functional Skills level 2 (e.g. GCSE grade C or above) which are necessary to undertake the apprenticeship Completed apprenticeship in relevant field of practice Successful completion of the Care Certificate NVQ Level 2/3 in a Health Related area or equivalent experience ECDL qualification or equivalent Previous Experience Essential Experience of working in a customer focused environment Experience of using computer systems for data entry and retrival Desirable Previous experience of working in a health/care setting Specific Requirements Essential Flexible in approach to work - must be able to undertake shift work where required Ability to use own initiative Committed to on-going personal development Willing to undertake further education, training and development relevant to the post. Skills Essential Understanding the role of the Health Care Support Worker Ability to manage time effectively Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to work in a demanding and busy environment Good customer care skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to forge effective working relationships with both patients, their relatives and colleagues Knowledge of confidentiality, infection prevention and dignity in care within the workplace Ability to prioritise and manage daily workload Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda.
