New to Care / Experienced Health Care Support Worker - Permanent, Band 2 - 3- With the Opportunity to Undertake an Apprenticeship This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop a career in the NHS as a Health Care Support Worker. We have a number of full time and part time opportunities available to applicants with or without previous health care experience, who are wanting to develop a career. The Emergency Department/ Same Day Emergency Care Unit is a busy and challenging environment. We are a forward thinking unit with a vision to provide a consistently high quality service to the public. Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity to undertake a Level 2/3 Apprenticeship if not already obtained. This opportunity will provide valuable work experience and upon completion a recognised Healthcare qualification. You will be given the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge required to become competent in supporting patients across a wide range of specialties that include roles in both acute and community settings. This is a great opportunity to gain new skills, experience and knowledge for those who may wish to pursue a future career in nursing.Main duties of the jobAs aHealth Care Support Worker, youwill be a hugely valuable support to our Nursing and Midwifery teams providing care to our patients. Every day will be different and you will work alongside the rest of the team carrying out a wide range of tasks and assisting with care to support the needs of the patients and their families.Examples of what you may do as part of your role:Washing and dressing patientsServing meals and feeding patientsHelping patients to move aroundMaking bedsTalking to patients and their familiesMonitoring patient conditionSkills and personal attributes needed:Caring and kindCheerful and friendlyKeen to support patients with their personal needs including washing and toiletingAble to follow direct instructionsHappy to work in a team but also able to use own initiativeHave good listening and communication skillsBe well organisedFull time and part time positions are available, and we are open to discuss flexible working arrangements.
