You have an opportunity to be part of this in the role of Residential Care Officer.We are currently looking to recruit for a Residential Care Officer to work at Acorn Lodge, which is our newly opened childrens homes for children aged from 7 to 18 with disabilities. As a Residential Care Officer, you will work under the supervision and advice of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager & Senior RCO with delegated responsibility for more skilled practice.Working alongside the manager and homes team you will play an active role in providing a warm, caring, enabling environment designed to fulfil the emotional, social and physical needs of the children living in the home.The patterns of care and support in the home are based on the principles of autonomy, choice, privacy, dignity and fulfilment in order to provide a foundation and reference point for good standards of care practice. The residential care service within the particular establishment will be provided in accord with the statements of purpose for the home policy and procedures.As a Residential Care Officer and as an individual, you will work in co-operation and consultation with children and their families and partner agencies and staff in providing an appropriately flexible service in response to assessment and case planning. The aim is to provide a range of social care and therapeutic approaches to work with individuals, groups and families appropriate to the needs of children in residence and within the least restrictive environment possible. Within the team working the residential care officer will undertake social care practice duties of a more skilled and difficult nature.Sleep in duties is a requirement of the role along with working shifts as part of a Rota.Shift patterns mainly consist of 8-hour shifts; 7am -3pm, 2pm-10pm, 2pm-11pm sleep in duty.Although at time other times may be required dependent upon the needs of the children/service.If you are interested, please read the Job Description & Person Specification, and complete the online application form by:In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you the chance to be part of a great team dedicated to ensuring that all people in Doncaster thrive.
