This position is primarily for Gynaecology Outpatient clinics, however the post may include working on our inpatient ward - Anthony Letchworth Ward. There may be cross site cover elements associated with working within Women's Health.Main duties of the jobHealthcare Support workers are allocated to a variety of clinic settings including, but not exclusive to; urogynaecology, colposcopy, menstrual disorders, early pregnancy assessment, general gynaecology and fertility.The main duties are:Chaperoning - the successful candidate will need to be female, due to the necessity to chaperone. Advocating and supporting our patients during their time in the department.Preparing equipment, stock management and decontamination.Carrying out appropriate medical interventions such as urinalysis, ECG, urinary pregnancy test and observations.Working for our organisationWe are a small, friendly, specialist department who pride ourselves on our team working. Our service includes both clinics and inpatient beds. It is located on Anthony Letchworth ward and in Suite 1 and 2 of Gynaecology Outpatients, on the ground floor of Florence Portal House. Clinic shifts are generally 8-12:30, 13:00-17:30, 5 days per week. We run between 25-35 clinics per week (approx.). Our inpatient ward consists of 20 beds, caring for women with breast and gynaecological conditions (elective and emergency) as well as caring for women with pregnancy complications including early loss.About the trust: The vision at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
