More information is available on our Career site at www.fife.gov.uk/jobs/supportingstatement.Job DetailsSupporting adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health disorders within their own homes and to access the local community.This role includes lone working, day shifts, late shifts, sleepovers and nightshifts and weekend working all applicants must be able to do all shift patterns. This will be in a single tenancy; successful applicants will be expected to lone work.Successful applicants will be provided with all necessary training such as Moving and Handling, CALM, ESCAPES, Dysphagia etc.Enhancements of time and a third for unsocial hours. Sleepovers are paid at an additional cost. Auto enrolment onto the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) 32 annual leave days rising to 37 days after 5 years.The Person Must have, or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 6 (equivalent to SVQ2) or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration. Communication skills, organisational skills, ability to manage and prioritise workload, ability to work with minimal supervision, team working skills, literacy skills, basic IT skills. Ability to provide support to individuals with personal care needs, Moving & Handling, ability to undertake physical tasks e.g. being able to comfortably kneel on beds and floors and able to rise without difficulty. You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period. Fife Council will pay your annual registration fee.Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
